At long last....this is Madison. Yes, she really is that cute! I've been talking about Madison for a while, referring to her as "the Sophia Loren of Yorkshire Terriers" and "The Most Beautiful Yorkie In The Land." Now you know why! It was a joy to paint Madison because her daddy is a professional photographer, so I had fantastic photos to work from. As I've mentioned before, this commission was a donation to the Northern New Jersey chapter of the Young Survival Coalition's most recent In Living Pink event. Madison's daddy, Daniel, was the winning bidder and scored the portrait. After the auction I couldn't wait to get the call from him; I was so curious what type of dog I'd be painting. I was excited to learn it was a Yorkie (the breed that was recently named America's 2nd favorite dog). And then I got the pictures and just fell in love with that sweet face!
Thank you, Daniel, for supporting a wonderful cause and for your interest in my work. It was a pleasure to work with you and to honor your adorable Madison. Enjoy!
WOOF! Thank you for visiting i heart dogs studio, the home of pet portraits lovingly painted by me, Christine Humphries Throckmorton. Since 2007, I have created custom pet portraits, prints, cards, and more, all featuring lovable canines (and the occasional feline). Scroll down, take a look around, click away. You'll see a wide variety of pet portraits, and get to know a bit about the girl behind the canvas.
PLEASE NOTE: Now that I have a toddler, I am no longer accepting commissions. For now, I am shelving the paintbrushes and just enjoying being MOM. I have a variety of original paintings, prints, and cards available in my shop, however, and there is a lot of dog art to peruse in the pages of this here blog. Enjoy.
