WOOF! Thank you for visiting i heart dogs studio, the home of pet portraits lovingly painted by me, Christine Humphries Throckmorton. Since 2007, I have created custom pet portraits, prints, cards, and more, all featuring lovable canines (and the occasional feline). Scroll down, take a look around, click away. You'll see a wide variety of pet portraits, and get to know a bit about the girl behind the canvas.
PLEASE NOTE: Now that I have a toddler, I am no longer accepting commissions. For now, I am shelving the paintbrushes and just enjoying being MOM. I have a variety of original paintings, prints, and cards available in my shop, however, and there is a lot of dog art to peruse in the pages of this here blog. Enjoy.

A few evenings ago Kevin and I went out for a stroll and we came across a woman walking a dog. The pup went right up to me and promptly flipped over into "give me a belly rub" pose. Of course I obliged. This started a love fest between us and the dog. I'm telling you, I've never encountered a friendlier canine. And she was so CUTE! Her name is Jazzy, and she is a Lhasapoo. I happened to have a camera on me, so I asked if I could take Jazzy's picture.
Meeting Jazzy totally made our night and it got me thinking about the different kinds of poodle hybrids I've been hearing about lately. I've met a Cockapoo and now a Lhasapoo; I'd also heard of Schnoodles and Labradoodles. However, I had NO idea just how many poodle hybrids there are until I googled it that evening. Holy cow! Kevin and I fell in love with some Cavapoos (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel + Poodle) we saw in pictures. I can't help but wonder what purebred Poodle breeders and enthusiasts think about this phenomenon. Hmmm...
All I know is that Jazzy's mom made a good choice and she is very lucky to have such an adorable POOch.
