WOOF! Thank you for visiting i heart dogs studio, the home of pet portraits lovingly painted by me, Christine Humphries Throckmorton. Since 2007, I have created custom pet portraits, prints, cards, and more, all featuring lovable canines (and the occasional feline). Scroll down, take a look around, click away. You'll see a wide variety of pet portraits, and get to know a bit about the girl behind the canvas.

PLEASE NOTE: Now that I have a toddler, I am no longer accepting commissions. For now, I am shelving the paintbrushes and just enjoying being MOM. I have a variety of original paintings, prints, and cards available in my shop, however, and there is a lot of dog art to peruse in the pages of this here blog. Enjoy.

they can show me in the world.” ~ Samuel Johnson

Love looks like this

Kevin and I are proud to announce that we adopted a beautiful Cocker/Springerl mix puppy. It all happened yesterday, February 1st. The adoption went so smoothly! We found her through Pefinder.com and dealt with some fantastic women from New Beginnings Pet Rescue. Our baby's original name was Harrah (as in the casino; we live just outside of Atlantic City), but we renamed her Rosalita (after the Bruce Springsteen song--the last song played at our wedding), and we are calling her Rosie for short. We are very happy parents; she is awesome.

We didn't care that our Eagles were in the Superbowl. We barely even watched the game (I just took the photo above to document that we got her on Superbowl Sunday). She and I were wiped out from the drive and all the hubbub in Petsmart, so we took a nap together on the couch.

There will be many more adventures with Rosie to post, I'm sure...
