WOOF! Thank you for visiting i heart dogs studio, the home of pet portraits lovingly painted by me, Christine Humphries Throckmorton. Since 2007, I have created custom pet portraits, prints, cards, and more, all featuring lovable canines (and the occasional feline). Scroll down, take a look around, click away. You'll see a wide variety of pet portraits, and get to know a bit about the girl behind the canvas.

PLEASE NOTE: Now that I have a toddler, I am no longer accepting commissions. For now, I am shelving the paintbrushes and just enjoying being MOM. I have a variety of original paintings, prints, and cards available in my shop, however, and there is a lot of dog art to peruse in the pages of this here blog. Enjoy.

they can show me in the world.” ~ Samuel Johnson

Some black and orange for Halloween

30 in 30: Phase 2 Weeks 1 and 4: Maxwell and Max
Here are Maxwell the Poodle and Max the Schnauzer. The photos were submitted by my friend Brett for my 30 in 30 project. These two breeds were at the top of my "Breeds I Want to Paint" wish list; and lo and behold, as soon as I put out the call for photos, I got these ones first! SPOOKY! (Was that a stretch? Oh well, it's Halloween!) Thank you, Brett, for submitting the pics and for your support of my work! I hope you like the portraits. Just for you: Go Phillies!

Max to the max!: I think "Max" is officially the most popular name amongst the dogs I've painted. Let's see, there was Max the Cavalier, then Maxx the Chocolate Lab, then Max the Basset Hound, and now Maxwell and Max!

Happy Halloween!
