WOOF! Thank you for visiting i heart dogs studio, the home of pet portraits lovingly painted by me, Christine Humphries Throckmorton. Since 2007, I have created custom pet portraits, prints, cards, and more, all featuring lovable canines (and the occasional feline). Scroll down, take a look around, click away. You'll see a wide variety of pet portraits, and get to know a bit about the girl behind the canvas.

PLEASE NOTE: Now that I have a toddler, I am no longer accepting commissions. For now, I am shelving the paintbrushes and just enjoying being MOM. I have a variety of original paintings, prints, and cards available in my shop, however, and there is a lot of dog art to peruse in the pages of this here blog. Enjoy.

they can show me in the world.” ~ Samuel Johnson

My buddy Bosco

30 in 30: Phase 2 Week 12: Bosco
It's been a while since I posted any new artwork. This seems strange because I have around five dog portraits in progress, plus two new commissions I have yet to start. I hate when I don't post for a long time. The past two weeks have been a blur!

The portrait above is part of my 30 in 30 project, and the subject is no stranger to this wee website of mine. Bosco is one of my favorite dogs. His mom and dad, Jill and Marc, are dear friends of ours. Marc is a fantastic photographer; he shot the photo that inspired this portrait. This is my third portrait of Bosco. I did a loose painting of him when I started my business, as well as a mosaic of him as a wedding present to Jill and Marc. Thank you, J and M, for your friendship and continued support of my business. I can't wait to see you guys SOON, and meet Bosco's little sister! XOXO
