WOOF! Thank you for visiting i heart dogs studio, the home of pet portraits lovingly painted by me, Christine Humphries Throckmorton. Since 2007, I have created custom pet portraits, prints, cards, and more, all featuring lovable canines (and the occasional feline). Scroll down, take a look around, click away. You'll see a wide variety of pet portraits, and get to know a bit about the girl behind the canvas.

PLEASE NOTE: Now that I have a toddler, I am no longer accepting commissions. For now, I am shelving the paintbrushes and just enjoying being MOM. I have a variety of original paintings, prints, and cards available in my shop, however, and there is a lot of dog art to peruse in the pages of this here blog. Enjoy.

they can show me in the world.” ~ Samuel Johnson

30 in 30: Phase 2 Week 19: Brutus

Finally! A finished painting! I feel like it has been forever since I completed one. It's always a good feeling, especially when the painting is one of those that you think will be lickety-split and, in fact, it takes you forEVER to get right. That's how it was with little Brutus. This sweet pup is the canine son of Amy, who is a friend of a friend of a friend. Brutus is now a big boy, and I'm sure he's handsome; but how cute is this puppy face! I'm so glad you like it, Amy. Thanks for participating in my project. Enjoy!

I've currently got six partially-finished canvases taking over my house. I hope to crank out finished work at a consistent pace over the next few weeks. And the new and improved website is almost here!
