WOOF! Thank you for visiting i heart dogs studio, the home of pet portraits lovingly painted by me, Christine Humphries Throckmorton. Since 2007, I have created custom pet portraits, prints, cards, and more, all featuring lovable canines (and the occasional feline). Scroll down, take a look around, click away. You'll see a wide variety of pet portraits, and get to know a bit about the girl behind the canvas.

PLEASE NOTE: Now that I have a toddler, I am no longer accepting commissions. For now, I am shelving the paintbrushes and just enjoying being MOM. I have a variety of original paintings, prints, and cards available in my shop, however, and there is a lot of dog art to peruse in the pages of this here blog. Enjoy.

they can show me in the world.” ~ Samuel Johnson

A Slow and Steady Pace Wins the Race

A Slow and Steady Pace:

...or so it says in "The Tortoise and the Hare," one of my favorite fables. I need to keep telling myself this, as production around here seems to be moving at a crawl.

I currently have seven(!) paintings in progress, but I'm only able to eek out an hour a day (if I'm lucky) to paint these days. I'm behind on my 30-in-30 project. WAY behind. But I'm determined to finish all 30 paintings within the time frame I set for myself (by May 9).

I have been working on behind-the-scenes stuff that I'm super excited about: the overhaul of this here website is in progress, and I'm all smiles about it; I'm in the process of setting up a consignment deal with my first pet boutique; and I've got a little marketing move up my sleeve!

All very cool stuff. I just can't wait to finish a darn painting. This weekend, baby. This weekend. Stay tuned!
